歴史に残る漁船が今日の朝ドラの話に出た。鳥肌がたった。

「第五福竜丸」、木造のマグロ漁船（！）。

ビキニ環礁で被曝した漁船は第五福竜丸だけでなく、同時に1,422隻もの船・のべ約2万人が被曝したという。ただの実験に、ですよ。

もしも自分の家族が乗っている船がそこにいたら、と思うとゾッとする。そこに住んでいた人はどうなったんだろう。

決して、決して核兵器が使われない世の中になることを祈ります。

A historic fishing boat “Daigo Fukuryu- Maru ”known as Lucky Dragon No.5 was in the NHK drama today.

The Daigo Fukuryu Maru was not the only fishing boat exposed to radiation at the Bikini Atoll; a total of 1,422 vessels and 20,000 people were exposed to radiation at the same time. Just for an experiment, you know.
I shudder to think what would have happened if the ship my family was on had been there.

I hope that the world will never, ever use nuclear weapons.
